These are a favorite flower of mine - something that I can remember from little on up!

Solitude

You can almost hear the birds softly singing and the water gently flowing by in this quiet picture. It simply speaks peace.

Christmas is coming!

This last week was busy for us (it always is, this time of year!). I was able to get several prints framed and ready to put out at a "Holiday sale" in Illinois. Thanks to my wonderful mother-in-law who is willing to monitor the table for me! These prints would make wonderful Christmas gifts to those you love. They come in 4x6, 5x7 or 8x10. You can get them framed, just matted, or just the print alone - however it works best for you. Remember, you can also get them customized with text of your choice. And again, all profits go to charity. E-mail me for more information.

Does anyone know the name of this flower?? I love the amazing creation that God has made for us to enjoy, but have no idea what a lot of them are! I'd love you help in learning more of the names and traits. Until then, I am content to enjoy their beauty!
Have a wonderful day!

November 1st

I can't believe it's already November! This morning was really nice with warm weather and some sunshine. Now the clouds have moved in and it really does feel like a gray November day. With the youngest in bed for a nap and the other entertaining themselves, I have a minute to post some photos.

A little ray of summer sunshine...

For the fun of imagination...
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

And another bit of warm sunshine...
Have a wonderful day!

October 29 - Hosta

The color lavender in nature represents refinement, grace, and elegance - or femininity all grown up. A beautiful thought for some beautiful flowers out there! This is a blossom of the hosta plant. We were able to enjoy their blooms in abundance this year and they were beautiful.

Belladonna Lily - Amaryllis

These flowers had us stumped for a couple of years after we moved to our current home. Smooth, long, slender leaves came up each spring, then died off. We thought nothing ever happened with them. It took us 2 years to realize that this beautiful stalk of flowers showed up mid-late summer wherever those leaves had been in the spring! It is hard to do it justice - the stalks are a good 2 feet tall with a head of 4 or more light pink blooms. Here are a couple of "artistic" takes on it.

A few Quiet moments!

I am amazed that all three children have laid down and are now hopefully sleeping. For those of you who know our family, you will also be amazed! :) With a few quiet moments, I thought I'd post a few more pictures. Let me know your thoughts!

I love hyacinth (of any variety!) - Grape hyacinth are some of my favorite - they are so delicate and colorful. This is my first "real" flower picture. When I saw how this turned out, I got even more interested in getting more pictures.

This day lily shot is probably one of my absolute favorites (so far). I got it printed with a metallic finish and the flower nearly seemed to pop off of the page.

This is another picture from our 10th anniversary "evening out" walk! It was taken in a "Japanese garden". What a picturesque place to take a walk and enjoy some peace and quiet.

When I was looking at this picture, thought of the 23rd Psalm "He leadeth me beside the still waters."

And that's the end of my quiet moments. Ahh - they were nice while they lasted. :) Have a great day!

A First Sampling of Pictures

These are a few of my favorites so far.

This was taken down at Purdue in May. I don't know what kind of tree this was, but it was absolutely beautiful.

For those of you who like a more "rustic" look, I thought this turned out well. You can have it printed in full color, Sepia, B&W, or Sepia/B&W with color retouched.
Wagon Wheel (sepia retouch)

We went to a flower garden to spend a little time before we went out to eat for our 10th anniversary and I had a lot of fun getting some pictures of plants and flowers I don't have. If any of you can tell me what this is, I'd appreciate it! It reminded me of a coneflower, but it's obviously not from the other pictures I've seen!

This geranium just says "Be Happy!" to me.
I want to frame it and put it in my girl's room.

Hello and Welcome!

This is all new to me. I have a number of friends with their own blogs and thought I would try it as well - not only for a place to update them on happenings in my life, but also as a way to spread the beauty of God's creation through photography. May it be all for His glory.

I am hoping to update this soon and upload a variety of pictures at that point. Leave me a note if you visit!
